Tire Repairs

Under inflation is the leading cause of tire failure. Under inflated tires are more prone to damage and failure, and they can lead to higher fuel costs by as much as 3 - 5¢ per liter.

Combination patch/stem repair Using plugs or patches alone on any type of tire is not a safe repair.

Never repair a tire worn below 2/32" (.16cm)

Never repair tires with tread punctures larger than 1/4" (.635cm)

Never use an inner tube as a substitute for proper repair.

All repairs must be made from the inside of the tire as well as outside.

The maximum number of nail holes is limited to two per tire and these must be separated by at least 15"(38cm).

No more than one cord per radial ply can be damaged.

Section repairs are not allowed.

Tip

Soap and water is the best thing to clean your tires with. Some cleaners contain chemicals that can break down the rubber and cause cracking.
